A Procedure of Addition and Alteration

Procedures for Additions and Changes concerning Eco Mark Certified Products

  With regard to various additions and alterations of Eco Mark certified products, please apply for them immediately with Eco Mark Office by using the following form A through E, in accordance with Article 3 of Basic Contract for Eco Mark Utilization and obtain an approval in advance. Products that have not gone through these procedures are not considered as Eco Mark products. However, there are cases when we cannot give an approval depending on the content of application.
(note) Please take note that unauthorized additions and changes fall under improper use of Eco Mark and it may be subject to legal actions including criminal punishment.

1.Procedures for Additions/Alterations, etc.
  (1) The flow of procedures for additions/alterations is as follows. With regard to specific methods of procedure, please refer to 1)Procedure for additions 2) procedure for changes espectively in the next page and after.
 
(2) Please refer to the following to make distinction between additions and changes.

In the event of addition of material supplier or plant which does not affect the model name (product number), it would be considered change in each material supplier or plant as a whole, and therefore, change procedure is necessary.
 
1) About procedure of addition
1) When you need to take addition procedure
In the event of falling under the cases below, when the products already certified as Eco Mark and the application grouping is the same.
If the application grouping was different, make a new application separately. 
  • When adding models (product number) of new colors, sizes, designs, etc.
  • When adding new types, etc, in succession.
Other than the cases above, when it is difficult to judge addition or changes, please consult with us. In addition, there are cases when a certain limit is set foraddition procedure depending on the product category. Please refer to the product category of the said products (document for certification criteria.) 

2) methods of procedure of addition
Please take a look at certification criteria in advance before submitting the necessary documents stated below. (necessary documents)

(2) Documents to certify in connection with criteria items required in examination (only when necessary.)
With regard to (1), please refer to How to fill in the application for additions of Eco Mark products.
 
3) Methods of payment of Eco Mark Annual Fees when the addition has been approved.
There is no need to pay for Annual Fees or to report the sales amount at that time. Please report the conclusive sales amount of the said products together with the entire Eco Mark products with Report of Sales Amount of (sales amount in shipment) of Eco Mark Products no later than 30 days from your reference date.

2) About procedure of change
1) When you need to take procedure on changes
In the event of falling under the cases below, when the products already certified as Eco Mark and the application grouping is the same.
If the application grouping was different, make a new application separately.
When making change of models (product number) of new colors, sizes, designs, etc.
When making change of the name of product brand, the calling name of model (product number), etc.
When making change of the manufacturing plant, raw material, raw material supplier and so on. (Even in the event of adding these, provided that there is no change in model, etc, changes procedures would be necessary.)

Please submit the following necessary documents
  • Application for change in the Eco Mark certified products (Form B)
  • Certifying documents related to criteria items requiring examination (only when necessary)

2.Procedures for changing the person in charge of the Eco Mark products and person in charge of payment
  When filing an application for certification/use of the Eco Mark, if any change is to be made in contacts such as the person in charge of products or person in charge of payment, please submit a "Notification of change of the person in charge of the Eco Mark (Form C)" to the Eco Mark Office promptly (submittal by facsimile is acceptable)
(note) If there is any change in the aforesaid matters, please take procedures for such change without fail because otherwise important notice from the Eco Mark Office (Eco Mark News, Mail Magazine, and "individual notices," etc.) will not be capable of being sent to you.
 
3.Procedures for change in the utilization contractor (licensee) using the Eco Mark
  If you wish to change the licensee using the rights of the Eco Mark to any third party due to merging or division, transfer of operations, etc. of the company, please file an application with the Eco Mark Office beforehand by using an "Application for Change of Eco Mark Utilization Contractor" (Form D)
After acceptance by the Office and examination of the contents of the application, a notice of approval or disapproval will be sent to the current licensee using the mark in about 1 - 2 weeks under normal circumstances. Please note that change may not be approved depending on the contents of application pursuant to Article 2, Paragraph 2 of the "Basic Contract for the Eco Mark Utilization".
 

4.Procedures for Change of the Name of the Contractor and Representative, etc.
  If the company name or representative, etc.is to be changed, please submit a "Notification of Change of Eco Mark Utilization Contractor Name, etc." (Form E) to the Office.
