| 1) About the application of Examination for Certified Product |
 |
| |
The Certification Criteria is set up for every product category. A product must meet the necessary standards to comply with the current product category categories. If it does, it is possible to apply for Examination for Certifying Product.

| 2) The product and applicant |
|
| |
Applicable products
- The product must be applicable to Eco Mark product category.
- The product is sold in Japan or is to be sold within six months after the application.

Requirements for applicants
- Applicants must be considered as the manufacturers who expect the display of Eco Mark on the product in principle.
- A distributor, an import handler, and an ordering party also can apply for after preparing the application written consent of required documents.
(Note) depending on the product categories, an applicant may be limited and subject to the Certification Criteria.
(Example: The product category No. 120 "Paper Printed Matter" -> it limits to the publisher of the printed materials.)

| 3) Application Fee for Product Certification |
|
| |
21,600 yen (including consumption tax) will incur as an
Examination fee for Product certification per one copy of
Eco Mark product certification / Usage application form
(form 2). In the case that an application form is submitted,
please transfer the fee to the following nominated account.
The copy of bank transfer details must be attached to Eco
Mark product certification / Usage application form (form
2) for submission. (in the case of electronic banking etc.,
an accounting person in charge etc. may pay, and a proof
of payment is sufficient)
In case the fee is transferred by putting more than one in block per application of products, please attach required documents, with indication of the predetermined contents.

- Payment for Examination
for Certifying Product Fee must be done by bank transfer.
Registered mail, personal Cheque or cash brought directly
cannot be accepted.
-Regarding Examination for Certifying Product Fee, it is much appreciated that a prior invoice or receipt will not be issued.
-Multiple application as well as the fee is transferred by putting more than one in block per application of products, please indicate in table , of form 2.
-Examination for Certifying Product Fee will be applied to the application for OEM and another branded-product. |

4) Documents required for application |

(1)Eco Mark product certification / Usage application form (Form 2) -- 1 (one) application per application products.

(2)"Registration of Applicant Information and a Person in Charge of License Fee Payment (Form 3-1)" and "Eco Mark Product Sales Report (Form 3-2)"
(Note) The person in charge of payment of the fee will be the contact for contract management and contact in charge of report of the sales of the Eco Mark certified products, payment of the Eco Mark license fee, etc. The person in charge of products may also be in charge of payment of the fee |

| 5) The deadline of an application |
|
| |
In principle the deadline of presentation for Eco Mark product certification /utilization application form 2 is the last day of the month (it will be the day before if it falls on Saturday, Sunday and public holiday). For applications which are received by the deadline, product certification examination is performed by the Committee for Product Certification next month. However, when there are deficient documents etc., examination is suspended until required documents are sufficient.
The deadline may be changed by consecutive holidays etc., please contact the office or refer to Eco Mark homepage to confirm the deadline.
