Product Category (Certification Criteria) is set up for Eco Mark. The products which are suited for either product category or authorization standards will be applicable for Eco Mark certification examination. Please consider an application after checking each Certification Criteria document beforehand. Q2.Who should make an application for Examination for Certifying Product ? |
| |
Please refer the page 11 2) Requirements for applicants. When it is certified, even if it is the same product, only Eco Mark utilizing contractor can display Eco Mark on products or a package. When Eco Mark is indicated by person (company etc) apart from the utilization contractor, it is required to apply to conclude Eco Mark Contract of utilization. |

Q3.When and how to obtain the actually displayed “Eco Mark Elogo? |
| |
The“Eco Mark”logos are inserted in the booklet“A Guide to Contract”which is enclosed when the notice of examination result is sent as printed material. Please observe each regulation and Eco Mark utilization Contract, such as the method of displaying the mark that is stipulated underneath the mark, for using and displaying the mark. |

Q4.When Eco Mark can be used and indicated from ? |
| |
A. Using and indicating Eco Mark, it is required to conclude the Eco Mark Contract of utilization with the Committee for Product Certification each product being certified. It is permitted to use and display Eco Mark from the date which Eco Mark Contract of utilization was concluded. Therefore, it is not allowed to distribute the Eco Mark displayed products to a market before the contract is concluded, although it is in the process of Eco Mark Product Examination. It is also prohibited to use Eco Mark logo or Eco Mark application etc. prior to the conclusion of contract.
Please keep it in mind that unapproved use of Eco Mark may be set as the object (such as collection of settlement-of-accounts charges and a disclosure in homepage) which corresponds to an unauthorized use of Eco Mark and a legislative action contains criminal penalty. |

Q5.Is it permitted to use and indicate Eco Mark after the expiry date of certification product which is stipulated in Eco Mark Utilization Contract |

Eco Mark utilization Contract will be renewed automatically
for every one year by payment of an annual fee till the expiry
date stipulated in Eco Mark utilization Contract as well as
Eco Mark Product Certificate. (no renewal procedure are required)
However, it is not allowed to use and indicate of Eco Mark
from the next day of expiry date. (it is the date if it is
extended according to the regulation) It is also not permitted
to distribute even if the product is Eco Mark displayed products
which was manufactured already (so-called stocks). However,
the case where new certification is reacquired and If you
have your products certified under new version of certification
criteria and enter an Eco Mark Utilization Contract again,
you can continue the use and indication of Eco Mark. Please
contact Eco Mark Office for details. |

Q6.Is there any cost involved in applying for Product Certification Examination ? |
| |
21,000 yen (including consumption tax) will incur per 1(one) copy of Eco Mark product certification / use application form (form 2).

Q7.By when should the Product Certification Examination Fee be transferred ? |
| |
Prior to submission of Eco Mark product certification / use application form (form 2), please transfer the fee to the designated bank account. The copy of bank transfer details must be attached to a certain part of Use Application at page 4(four). The proof of payment of an accounting person in charge etc. may be acceptable in the case of electronic banking transfer etc. For further information, please refer to this page. |

Q8.Application Fee can be brought directly with application form ? |
| |
Unfortunately, Application Fee must be paid by bank transfer. Please understand that cash brought directly cannot be accepted. |

Q9.Can the products manufactured overseas receive Eco Mark certification ? |
| |
As long as the products are sold domestically, it is possible to apply for Product Certification Examination although the products were manufactured overseas.
Certificates for submission is no specially difference from domestically produced one, however, Japanese translation must be attached for submission as well as the original documents. If there is no seal (company seal), the manager’s signature can be acceptable. |

Q10.How long does it take from Product Certification Examination to the Notice of Examination Result ? |
| |
Usually, if it is the application made within the calendar month concerned, it would be examined by the examination committee in next month (planned to be held on third Monday of the month), and the Notice of Examination Result will be mailed within one week afterwards. In addition, when there is a defect in application documents and certificates etc., it may take more than the above mentioned period.

Q11.What is“Product Brand Name E |
| |
In brand, there are products brand and corporate brand. Products brand in this term is synonymous with the former products brand.
In actual term, it is for a name of products, a name of series, etc. which are indicated in a catalog etc. |

Q12.What’s needed to be registered ? |
| |
Regarding a product of an application, please register its model when the model (size, each product number by color), is under the management of control. Especially, when there are products which are distributed as Eco Mark products as well as not distributed as Eco Mark for the same products, it is necessary to distinguish clearly between Eco Mark products and the products which are not so by its article and number, etc. A term for “type mentioned above is synonymous with product number in principle. Please register the types with number units as detailed as possible, according with below.

Q13.Where should we refer to check whether the product certification of our company is in valid ? |
| |
Eco Mark Product Actual (or Estimation) Sales Figure (distribution
sales figure) Report which is sent by the office carries all
the Eco Mark products which will be the basis for calculation
as well as valid within the next applicable payment period
beforehand. After the receipt of an annual fee, the Eco Mark
Product List for applicable payment period concerned will

Q14.Regarding election of a person in charge of payments, can more than one person be in charge since there are many certification products ? |
| |
Eco Mark Annual fee must be paid by each Eco Mark User (company). Therefore,“a person in charge of payments”must designate 1(one) person in charge for each“Eco Mark User (company) regardless the number of certified products. Regarding administration procedure except Sales Figure Report and Annual fee Payment relation is carried out by designated person for each Eco Mark product as usual. |

Q15.When presentation of deficient documents is not in time for the deadline, what should it carry out? |
| |
When presentation of deficient documents is not in time for the deadline, please understand that examination is suspended until the required documents are sufficient.
An application will be canceled if six months pass from an application day with deficient documents. Please note that the product certification examination fee will not be refund.
