No, there is no fees for examinations in connections of additions and alterations. (Fees for experiment, etc. that are necessary for verification are borne by the applicant.) However, Eco Mark Annual Fees must be paid for the product added in accordance with its sales amount. When making additions and alterations, etc. in connection with product already certified, please immediately take procedures necessary to receive an approval in advance.

Q2.When additions and alterations have been approved, until when will its usage of Eco Mark be permitted ? |
|
Also in the event of receiving an approval for additions and alternation, Eco Mark product is certified by each certification number. Thus, the period in which Eco Mark can be used is until the expiration date of validity term of certification in accordance with Article 5 and Article 10 of Eco Mark Utilization Contract (table) in the same manner as that of the said product already certified, provided that the contract is not cancelled or annulled. However, even if the said certification criteria has been revised during the term of validity of certification, product already certified is not affected and that the certification of those product remain effective. |

Q3.What would happen if we use Eco Mark without taking procedures for additions and alterations ? |
|
Making additions and alterations of Eco Mark product in advance without receiving an approval falls under improper use of Eco Mark and that it may be subject to legal actions including criminal punishment. In addition, with regard to products added, we may ask for settlement amount accompanying Eco Mark utilization in proportion to unauthorized use of Eco Mark. |

Q4.In the event that certification criteria has been revised or reviewed, do I follow the old or new criteria when doing procedures for additions and alterations later on ? |
|
Additions and alterations are going to be examined in accordance with the certification criteria with which the first certification was given for the product already certified in subject (In the event of having renewed the contract, certification criteria at the time of the renewal immediately before.) regardless of revisions and review made on the said certification criteria. |

Q5.How far do I have to register the model (product number) ? |
|
In the event that there is a product shipped as Eco Mark product and those not among the same product, a clear distinction between them must be made with model, product number, etc, as it would affect the sales amount to calculate Annual Fees. Therefore, please register models by the unit of product number as detailed as possible, referring to the items listed below.
Size, design, color, product number, specifications for XXX
(note) Provided that a clear distinction can be made with model (product number) among the same product, the sales amount of those not shipped as Eco Mark product does not have to be reported. |

Q6.A model (product number) was discontinued, what kind of procedures are necessary? |
|
Use Application for alterations of Eco Mark Product (form B) and fill in “striking the model off (for the reason of discontinuation)”and “model struck off (product number) Eand submit to our office.

Q7.Can Eco Mark usage rights be transferred to a related company ? |
|
In the event of transferring Eco Mark usage
rights due to unification, division or sale of business due
to unification, division or sale of business, approval from
our office is necessary. Please apply for it by using Application
Form for Alterations of Eco Mark Utilization Contractor (form
D) in advance.
However, we may not approve the transfer of usage rights depending on the content of the application.
In addition, please take note that if a former contractor shipped product with Eco Mark indications after the date of approval of transfer of Eco Mark usage rights, it would fall under unauthorized use and may be subject to legal actions including criminal punishment.

Please submit Application for Alterations of the Name of Person in Eco Mark Utilization Contractor (form E) to our office.

Q9.We want to use the same Eco Mark product at our subsidiary at the same time. Do I submit Notification of Alterations of the Name of Eco Mark Utilizationl Contractor? |
|
Eco Mark Utilizationl Contract is concluded for each company. Therefore, a related subsidiary and so on must also conclude Eco Mark Utilization Contract separately by applying for examination of Eco Mark certification.
